Diane Moffitt 'Goes for Gold' in China for the Meningitis Trust

Adare is proud to be a main sponsor of client Diane Moffitt, of Hills Pet Nutrition, who has recently returned from an epic five day trekking trip on the Great Wall of China in aid of The Meningitis Trust.

Adare Account Director, Chris Gilbert, brought Diane's remarkable fundraising efforts to the company's attention back in July when she was initially seeking sponsors and Adare stepped up to the mark with a donation.

Walking on the wall for a gruelling 6 hours each day of her trip, covering over 65 miles of the wall, Diane has raised a tremendous £3,495.12 and is still collecting money from well-wishers on her website justgiving.com/dianemoffitt.

Diane, says: "I had the time of my life trekking on the Great Wall of China and although it was physically exhausting it was also mentally challenging to walk so far each day.

"I met many inspiring companions on my journey, which really helped me to keep motivated throughout the trek. Several people on the trek had been affected by meningitis in some way, including a family who had lost their 17 year old son to the illness last year.

"The individual stories really made me realise what a debilitating and life-threatening illness meningitis is, and how it not only impacts the sufferer but also their family and friends. I hope to raise over £4,000 to support the great work of The Meningitis Trust in helping all those affected.

"I would like to thank Chris Gilbert and everyone at Adare for all their support both before and after the trip. It was motivating to know I had so many supporters back at home and I enjoyed updating them every step of the way."

The Meningitis Trust is a registered UK charity that helps promote the detection and treatment of meningitis. The charity helps families and individuals who have been affected by meningitis, offering a 24-hour support phone-line, counselling and home visits.
